ACTATE invites teachers of English and literacy, school leaders, education authority representatives, teacher educators and literacy consultants from the act and surrounding region to present at and attend this exciting event.
Sharing the Secrets of Success seeks to value and acknowledge the work of English teachers
and to share effective practice.
Opportunities will be provided for delegates to network, learn new strategies and celebrate the teaching of English.

Registration details
- Standard registrations close Friday 14 May 2010.
- Registration on the day of the events will require immediate payment in full.
- Registration includes attendance at the program, session notes, morning tea and lunch.
- If a teacher is unable to attend, substitution by another teacher is acceptable. No refunds will be provided.
Call for papers
The Call for Papers invites English educators to present workshops about their practice in years 7-12 English. This may include sharing ideas about texts, pedagogy, multimodality and using technology, engaging students in learning, addressing diversity, teaching writing, grammar, spelling, reading or system initiatives including the Quality Teaching Framework and the Every Chance to Learn curriculum framework.
Proposals should include:
- Title
- Abstract (up to 250 words)
- Biographical details (up to 50 words)
- Paper duration (either 60 or 90 minutes)

All those submitting a proposal will be notified regarding their success or otherwise by 9 April 2010.
